Presentation: Join us for this session that will provide an overview of direct and indirect costs when creating a budget and determining options for reimbursement. Participants will gain insight into navigating indirect cost pitfalls, understanding indirect cost rates, and exploring various options for reimbursement. The training will also address de minimis indirect cost rates, and special and restricted rates. Knowledge of managing these often overlooked costs ensures a transparent and effective financial strategy for any program/award. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Explain the basis on which indirect cost rates are determined.
- Correctly apply the appropriate cost basis for their indirect cost rate.
- Be able to development an effective financial strategy as it relates to indirect costs.
Because space is limited, individuals must register for sessions separately.

State of New Hampshire’s DHHS Grants Office
Melissa Kelleher joins us from the State of New Hampshire’s DHHS Grants Office.
She is the Grants Administrator, overseeing Federal Award policy and compliance. Primarily, she is responsible for the Federal grant compliance, including consistent evaluation of discretionary grant opportunities and ensuring subrecipient monitoring across all divisions and bureaus.
Melissa has an extensive background in auditing and administrative law, which have helped to shape the agency’s approach to interpreting and complying with applicable regulations.
