A 3-Hour Training with Stacie Lucius, MS, LCMHC, MLADC, LMHC

Virtual via Zoom | 8:30am-11:45am EST

Presentation: This workshop will engage participants in understanding the presentation of psychosis, including differential diagnosis of substance-induced psychosis, and how to overcome some of the challenges of working with this population. This includes addressing misconceptions that lead to conflict and disconnect versus collaboration and connection. By redefining psychosis in a way that understands and honors the client’s experience as meaningful, participants will create a foundation to develop rapport and person-centered goals with individuals living with psychosis. Several clinical approaches will be introduced.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and describe the symptoms of psychosis both diagnostically and in a way that deepens understanding of the client experiences;
  2. Recognize the role stigma, implicit bias, and anosognosia play in the treatment of psychosis; and
  3. Apply at least 3 person-centered strategies to increase treatment engagement of individuals living with psychosis.
