Presentation: This program will cover the basics of Qualified Services Organization Agreements, the legal framework for QSOAs, tips and strategies for preparing, negotiating, and implementing QSOAs, and the interrelationship between QSOAs and HIPAA Business Associate Agreements.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe QSOAs and the legal requirements for these agreements under 42 CFR Part 2;
  2. Provide tips and strategies for preparing, negotiating, and implementing QSOAs; and
  3. Educate on the interrelationship between QSOAs and HIPAA Business Associate Agreements.

Sheehan Phinney

Jason D. Gregoire serves as chair of Sheehan Phinney's Healthcare Practice Group. He advises practitioners and facilities of all types on transactional, compliance, privacy, corporate, contracting, licensing, risk management, fraud and abuse, and patient care issues.

Jason assists physicians, dentists, optometrists, veterinarians, chiropractors, and other health care practitioners in employment and professional practice transitions including negotiating employment contracts, shareholder buy-ins, and practice sales and acquisitions. He has represented physician practices in sales to hospital systems and dental practices in sales to Dental Service Organizations (DSOs). Jason also routinely represents non-profit health care facilities in change of ownership and control matters before the Charitable Trusts Unit of the NH Attorney General’s Office.

Jason frequently speaks to industry groups such as the NH Health Care Association, Home Care, Hospice & Palliative Care Alliance of NH, Medical Group Management Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, NH Providers Association, Bi-State Primary Care Association, and Maine Primary Care Association.
