Acudetox Webinar

Acudetox Webinar

A 1-Hour On-Demand Webinar with Laura Cooley, LAc

Presentation: A five-point ear acupuncture treatment is used around the world, beginning in the early 1970s, and initially for detoxing from methadone. Now expanded for use in behavioral health, including addictions, mental health, and emotional and disaster trauma, NH professionals can now be trained and certified to utilize this protocol. Dr. H.L. Wen in Hong Kong discovered opiate withdrawal symptom alleviation and creative community members developed what is now known as the NADA protocol, or Acudetox. As Lincoln Recovery Center in the Bronx experimented with learning and using acupuncture for addiction treatment, its role in sustaining recovery over the long term proved more important than the alleviation of withdrawal symptoms. The larger impact of facilitating wellness has resulted in the opportunity to design and implement Acu Wellness Centers in NH to create non-stigmatizing opportunities for the citizens of NH to obtain a simple treatment that alleviates withdrawal symptoms, depression, anxiety, and insomnia and can facilitate clarity and balance often hard to find for our neediest citizens.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe what Acudetox is;
  2. Summarize the value Acudetox has;
  3. List the safe application of 5-point ear acupuncture treatment;
  4. Describe the protocol for successful integration of ear acupunture treatment; and
  5. Describe the law that allows the use of AcuDetox by those trained in the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) for the purposes of Behavioral Health in NH.

10 Questions  |  3 attempts  |  80/100 points to pass Before receiving your certificate, participants must pass a 10-question quiz with an 80% or higher. The test can be attempted up to three times; if you cannot pass the quiz in the three attempts, please email training@nahadaca.org so staff can reset the webinar to be retaken at no additional cost. Why must you complete a quiz? First, it is an effective assessment tool, allowing you to gauge your understanding of the material. This reflection can help you find areas where you may need more study or clarification. Second, quizzes can enhance retention by reinforcing learning. Engaging with the material actively helps solidify knowledge in long-term memory. Third, it is a requirement for NHADACA to provide continuing education hours. Finally, quizzes can provide valuable feedback to staff and facilitators, offering insights into the overall comprehension and informing future teaching strategies.
